Tyrant's Bane is a powerful Horadric Jewel introduced in Diablo 4 Gold: Sins of the Horadrim, designed specifically for damage-over-time (DoT) builds. This item significantly boosts your sustained damage output by applying an ever-increasing penalty to enemies you damage over time, making it a compelling choice for players who focus on debuffing enemies and stacking DoT effects.

Tyrant's Bane is a socketable Horadric Jewel that can be placed into rings or amulets. Like all Horadric Jewels, it grants 160 Armor and 8% Resistance to All Elements, providing defensive stats that help offset some vulnerability while you increase your offensive power.

This means every tick of your DoT gradually stacks a damage amplification that accumulates indefinitely on the enemy, enabling your damage to ramp up dramatically the longer the fight persists. Over extended battles, this can result in exponential damage increases, exponentially speeding up boss kills and tough encounters.

When you apply any damage-over-time effect to an enemy, Tyrant's Bane activates a stacking debuff on that enemy. Every tick of your DoT adds 0.33% more damage over time that the enemy will take from you, scaling infinitely and permanently during that encounter.

For example, if you have multiple DoT sources or fast ticks, this stack rate increases rapidly. This scaling effect is similar to the popular legendary gem Bane of the Stricken from Diablo 3 but adapted and balanced for Diablo 4's new mechanics.

While Tyrant's Bane offers infinite scaling, it requires builds and playstyles centered on dealing damage over time. It is less effective for direct damage burst or pure physical damage builds without DoT components.

Manage your resources and DoT uptime carefully to keep stacks accumulating, and combine Tyrant's Bane with other defensive Horadric Jewels or gear to withstand cheap Diablo 4 Items long fights.
