Anyone who has spent a decent amount of time exploring the world of this game knows exactly how jarring the pacing can be sometimes. You are running around, blasting enemies, and having a great time, but then you hit a quest that just stops you dead in your tracks. While most objectives are pretty clear, the developers seem to love throwing in these vague investigation missions that feel more like riddles than actual gameplay. "Marked For Death" is definitely one of the worst offenders in this category. It is incredibly frustrating when you are just trying to grind for a specific ARC Raiders BluePrint or clear out your log, and suddenly you have to scour a massive area with barely any direction. It feels like finding a needle in a haystack, and honestly, the clues they give you are barely helpful.

Heading to the Buried City

The good news is that you don't actually need to be a detective to solve this one. Despite how confusing the quest text makes it sound, the solution is super simple once you know the specific spot. You need to make your way to the Buried City area. Don't waste time searching the outskirts; you want to head straight for the Su Durante Warehouses. If you are looking at your map, focus on the northern section. It is sitting just north of Marano Park. It is a pretty big landmark, so once you are in the general vicinity, you really can't miss it. Just getting to the right neighborhood is half the battle here.

Finding the External Cache

Here is where most people, myself included, tend to mess up. When you get to the warehouses, your gamer instinct is going to tell you to run inside and start looting everything in sight. Don't do that. For this specific step, you need to stay outside. You are looking for Tian Wen's cache, and it’s not hidden in some dark corner indoors. Keep your eyes peeled for a wall made of brown corrugated sheet metal. It looks a bit rusty and contrasts with the concrete and other materials around the warehouse exterior. That brown color is your primary visual cue. The cache is sitting right there against that metal wall, just waiting for you to interact with it.

The Final Clue in the Sand

This next part is where I got stuck for way too long. After you check the cache, you aren't done yet. You need to head West from that spot. You don't need to run a marathon; just look for a small cluster of trees nearby. You actually have to walk right into that little patch of vegetation. The trick here is to point your camera down and look at the sand. You are searching for a specific piece of metal lying on the ground. It’s inspectable, but it blends in perfectly with the terrain if you aren't paying close attention. Once you spot it and interact with it, the quest is over. It’s a bit anticlimactic, but at least you can move on.

Don't Overthink the Objectives

This quest really highlights a major tip for playing this game: stop and read the text, but don't overthink the distance. Whenever you get these "follow the clue" missions in zones like the Spaceport or The Blue Gate, the answer is usually right under your nose. I used to run five minutes away into the desert thinking the objective was far off, but that is almost always wrong. Stick to the Point of Interest. Whether you are hunting for a rare weapon part or a BluePrint in ARC Raiders to upgrade your kit, the solution is usually within fifty meters of where the clue dropped. Check the corners, look at the ground, and don't wander off into the middle of nowhere.
