How Do You Unlock Industrial Espionage?

The quest becomes available after you complete Eyes on the Prize. Return to Tian Wen, check her new dialogue, and confirm that Industrial Espionage is active in the quest menu before entering a raid.

This check matters because arriving at the location without the active quest can waste a run. You also need a Burletta in your inventory. The mission checks for that specific weapon, so bringing a different sidearm or assuming you can find one after landing won't help.

Where Is the Industrial Espionage Cache?

The target is near the Gas Station POI in the northern Buried City Outskirts. Don't search only inside the station itself. The interaction point is outside, close to a damaged transport vehicle and a rusted square container that serves as the main visual clue.

The marker can lead you toward the right general area without making the cache immediately obvious. Once you reach the station, circle the outside edge and inspect the nearby cover, vehicles, and containers. The location is close to the POI, but the mission action happens at the rival supply cache.

How Do You Complete Industrial Espionage?

Bring the Burletta

Put the Burletta in your loadout or inventory before the raid begins. You don't need to hold it in your hands while searching, and carrying it as a spare item makes the interaction easier to understand once you reach the cache.

Reach the Gas Station

Use the northern outskirts as your approach reference and adjust your route around ARC activity, visibility, and other raiders. A direct line saves time, but a wider path can keep you out of unnecessary fights while the required weapon is still on your character.

Deposit the Weapon

At the cache near the damaged vehicle and rusted container, switch away from the Burletta and interact with the container. Place the weapon inside when the prompt appears. If nothing happens, confirm that the correct Burletta is in your inventory and that Industrial Espionage is selected.

Install the Listening Device

The first interaction isn't the whole quest. Interact with the same cache a second time to install Tian Wen's listening device and advance the objective. This is the step players most often miss when they leave immediately after depositing the weapon.

Do You Need to Extract After the Objective?

The quest action can register at the cache without requiring a successful extraction for progression. Still, getting out safely is the better result because anything else collected during the raid remains useful only if you keep it.

After the device is installed, check your surroundings before moving. If nearby activity has increased, leave rather than turning a completed objective into a longer fight. Extra containers can wait for another Buried City run.
