If your seasonal progress suddenly stops moving, you are not necessarily doing anything wrong. War Plans can sometimes become awkward when an objective fails to register, an activity is unavailable at your current difficulty, or the progression tracker does not update correctly. These problems can be especially annoying when you are also trying to manage D4 items, upgrade your character, and finish the Seasonal Journey at the same time.

For most players, the best approach is to stop repeating the same failed objective and identify what is actually preventing progress. Some War Plan problems can be solved by changing activities, while others are easier to handle by resetting the plan. If you understand how the system behaves, you can avoid wasting time and get back to collecting D4 items and completing seasonal content.

Start by Checking What Is Actually Stuck

The first step is to inspect the War Plan rather than immediately launching another activity. Look at the exact objective that is refusing to progress and compare it with your current difficulty and activity ranks.

A War Plan can appear stuck for several different reasons. An activity may have reached its maximum contribution, an objective may not be available before Torment, or the tracker may simply have failed to register the completion correctly.

If you finish an activity and the counter remains unchanged, repeating it several times usually is not the best solution. Check another objective first and see whether the overall tracker responds normally.

Use a Seasonal Alt When the Plan Is Completely Bricked

One of the more useful workarounds is creating a fresh Level 1 Seasonal character. This is particularly helpful when your main character is locked into an objective that cannot reasonably be completed.

Create the new seasonal character and choose the campaign skip option. After entering the seasonal world, head toward the Command Table in Temis. The introductory War Plan activity for an alt can be completed quickly without investing much time in the new character.

Complete that basic activity and collect the Marks of El'Druin it provides. Because the currency is account-bound, you can return to your main character afterward and use a Mark to reset the problematic War Plan.

This method is much more practical than abandoning a well-developed seasonal character simply because one War Plan became unusable.

Pay Attention to Rank 9 Progress

Another issue involves players reaching Rank 9 while still missing the final Activity Skill point needed for Rank 10. The confusing part is that individual activity trees may already look completely developed.

Once a particular path has reached its maximum, putting additional attention into it will not necessarily help the main progression tracker. Instead, check which paths are still below their cap.

Spread your progression between available activities such as Whispers, Undercity, Pits, and Helltides. Rerolls can be useful here because they give you an opportunity to target objectives connected to areas that still contribute toward your overall progress.

Handle Infernal Hordes Carefully

Infernal Hordes can be troublesome when the War Plan asks for the activity before you have reached the appropriate difficulty. A map marker may disappear, or selecting the objective may fail to take you into the activity.

Instead of repeatedly trying the same broken entry, focus on progressing through the other parts of the Seasonal Journey. Completing your required Capstone content and reaching Torment 1 can resolve the difficulty-related problem.

Another option is to abandon the current War Plan quest and return to the Command Table. If the next generated plan does not contain the problematic Infernal Hordes objective, you can continue without being forced through the same roadblock.

Choose Efficient Activities After a Reset

Once your War Plan has been reset, prioritize activities that are easy to understand and relatively quick to complete. The Kurast Undercity and Pits are convenient choices because their objectives are generally straightforward.

Helltides can require more traveling and resource collection, which makes them less attractive when your main goal is simply progressing through a War Plan. Infernal Hordes can also be inconvenient if your character has not reached the appropriate difficulty yet.

Keep Your Seasonal Progress Moving

A stuck War Plan does not mean your entire seasonal progression has failed. Check the activity requirements, look for uncapped progression paths, and consider using a fresh seasonal alt if the current plan is genuinely broken. Taking a few minutes to reset the situation can save much more time than repeatedly attempting an objective that is not registering.

Once your route is working again, you can concentrate on your normal character progression, including farming D4 items and improving your build. If you want to save time on gearing while continuing your seasonal activities, some players also choose to buy d4 gear through an external marketplace rather than waiting for every upgrade to drop naturally.
