Excerpt from the SEAK DVD - Winning over the Jury: http://store.seak.com/winning-over-the-jury-dvd/
The expert witness who delivers long rambling soliloquies loses the attention, confidence and trust of the jury.
Dr., could you state the reasons for that opinion for us?
OK, the reason for that is that Mr. Lynch had what I feel is a significant long history of accumulative exposure to hand trauma in the past starting back in 1983, he was involved in activities that lead to high use of his hand. The medical records indicate that Mr. Lynch had done landscaping work, he indicated in history that I obtained that he worked for a landscaping company and that the medical records indicated that he operated a chain saw in the past. Mr. Lynch indicated to me that he had been involved with the landscaping company in a wide variety of hand intense activities from approximately 1983 through 1998. These intensive hand activities were sufficient to cause Mr. Lynch to develop bilateral firm wrist thumb joint or thumb joint arthritis.
The expert witness on the other hand who can teach themselves to self edit and answer questions directly in bullet-point bottom line fashion are much more helpful to the jury.
Dr., can you state the reasons for that opinion for us?
Mr. Lynchs 15 year history of repeated hand traumas while working as a landscaper caused his thumb and joint arthritis.
