Signed Elden Ring Poster by Hidetaka Miyazaki Fetches High Price at Charity Auction
A collectible Elden Ring poster signed by director Hidetaka Miyazaki is experiencing a surge in price at a charity auction hosted by a popular YouTuber. As a key figure behind FromSoftware's success, Miyazaki has played a pivotal role in shaping the studio's identity, particularly through his acclaimed Soulslike projects.
This auction, benefiting the Immune Deficiency Foundation, leverages Miyazaki's fame for a worthy cause. Since starting his career as a humble coder at FromSoftware at the age of 29, Miyazaki has become a prominent name in the video game industry, credited with revolutionizing the action RPG genre and establishing the Soulslike category. His latest title, Elden Ring, has achieved unprecedented financial and critical success, surpassing even the popularity of his previous works like Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Despite his achievements, Miyazaki is known for his preference to remain out of the spotlight, rarely participating in interviews or signing memorabilia.
Now, a signed collectible is available for auction, and it comes with a staggering price tag that would excite even the most devoted Elden Ring fan. YouTuber Connor Marc Colquhoun, known as CDawgVA, has listed the signed Elden Ring poster on Tiltify. Initially starting at just $1, the price skyrocketed to $10,100 by the end of the first day, and as of now, the highest bid stands at an impressive $15,000, making it one of the most coveted Elden Ring collectibles. The winner of the signed poster will be revealed during CDawgVA's charity auction for the Immune Deficiency Foundation, scheduled for July 19 from 2-4 PM PT. Fans of the critically acclaimed open-world Soulslike can participate in the auction by registering on Tiltify. Additionally, donors can purchase a $500 VIP ticket to attend the auction in person, with all proceeds going directly to the IDF. Other auction items include a signed poster from the Dark and Darker development team and a custom wooden Ironmouse-themed keyboard from Barrett Creative. While the success of Elden Ring and its DLC has elevated Miyazaki and FromSoftware, it's encouraging to see the game's popularity being used for charitable purposes. Many fans are likely to share this sentiment and hope for continued success for both the studio and the developers who contributed to Elden Ring's remarkable achievements.
